So You Think You Can Make Heaven

Hello there, let me tell you a story;
So, I am a medical student who loves to read, and because of that, I got to a point where I assumed people should be humans first before being a Christian, and that really made sense.
I felt like a genius.

Every decision I made was based on me being human not necessarily because God said I should.
I mean, should you say the truth because God said you should?
Nah, come on.
You are human, you should know this. So I will go ahead and say the truth because I am human first and in addition to that God also said I shouldn't so God's word is a bonus.

God's word cannot be a bonus, it's everything.

I have listened to More by Lawrence Flowers a whole lot of times and I'm always focused on the Chorus until one day the 2nd verse hit me;
"oh the worshiper in me wants to break free from the intellectual mentality"
And it dawn on me;(crap), Emmy this is your life, intellectual mentality.
You think you know it because you read some sort of book and you have lost sight of the main book which is the Bible.

Now, I'm not saying reading "books" is wrong but does it even in the slightest way make you feel you are better than anyone?
If your mind is telling you yes, then there is some kind of error somewhere because the Bible doesn't make you feel like you are better than anyone for what it is worth it helps you have a good relationship with everyone.
So read books, but read good books.
48 laws of power sound great, it seems like a good book.
But is it?
No hunnnnayyy, it's just another level of manipulations.

Back to my story;
Intellectual mentality huh, I started talking to myself.
No good person will enter heaven so Emmy with all your goodness and overflowing mercy, you are just flowing to hell because let's get to the basics here.
Do you remember what Romans 3:12 says;
I doubt. Because you are busy reading 12 rules of life by Jordan Peterson which is not a bad book.
It says,
"There is no one who does what is good"
if you read down verse 23 says
 "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"
so even the holiest of thou amongst us has fallen short of what God expects.
Let me burst your bubble God's standard is complete obedience and guess who has met that standard; Jesus Christ.
Hello my audience, can you guess where Jesus is at the moment?
At the right hand of his Father in heaven
Yes, you are right.

In summary, the only set of people qualified to enter heaven are not the good people but those who trust, believe, and accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour in whatever order.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says we are not saved from Gods judgment by our own good works so whenever you think of being human first before being Christ-like you should remember that a human has zero chances of entering heaven but a Christ-like being has 100% chances of entering heaven because there is Jesus Christ who stands as a mediator between you and the Father.

Tell me, what can be better than this?
So don't stress yourself over being a good person without accepting Jesus.
You can't do it alone, just accept Jesus and let him correct that intellectual mentality so it will no longer be human before Christian but Christ-like before being human.

With that being written,
I am Emediong and this is Dimensionsofgold.

  1. I really love this angle of it all. It's so beautifully simple :-) Our books don't hold all the keys to life and it's important that you've tried to tell people of the distinction.

    Really great read.

    :-)

    Nice work. (P.S love the dialogue-esque kind of tone, it's fantastic)

My Identity Crisis

  Oh, hello This is uum kind of awkward. You would think after doing this for so many years, I would be so courageous and confident to stand before a crowd. It's almost like every event I'm invited for,is a chance to stand on the stage again for the very first time.  Somehow I believe that's the beauty of it all, the nervousness, excitement, the adrenaline spike that rushes through my body helping me prepare so I don't get so comfortable in my God-given abilities and slip up. Well, as some of you may know My name is Emediong Francis Udoudoh and I wear many hats but for this event, I choose to wear my green public speaking hat. Can I have a seat please? I hope that's fine yea, okay I think I would be more comfortable if I assume the friendly kind of vibe position. Thank you very much. So, as I was saying my self and my green hat we want to talk you today about identity. As many of you may know, I am the founder of Dimensionsofgold conglomerate but what you don't ...

It's My Body I Can Do Whatever I Want With It

"It's my body I can do whatever I want with it" Amongst the numerous quotes and sayings I have recently deduced as 'wrong', this happens to be the most insane. To crown it all, there are movements to actually support this notion  headed by women who claim to be Christians when the question of religion and going to church arises but when it comes to how they should dress to church and life at large it suddenly becomes; 'its my body, I can do what I want". This movement has been covered under the canopy of 'self love and do you, the world will adjust' and it just surprises me when Christian women pledge to this movement with their dressing without understanding God will never adjust to mans movement when he has a movement of his own. Click to read my views on making vows It is very confusing because in as much as these women claim to pray and study the word, I have reasons to believe they ignore verses where God says our bodies belong t...

On Being A Feminist

The other day I was privileged to attend an event, it wasn't necessarily a church program but it centered around Christianity and women. So of course the guest speakers would be women but one was particularly very interesting. This lady  went on and on about how Christian women should act, which I agreed for the most part and learnt new  things. However, she took me aback with a particular statement she made "you can't be a Christian and a feminist". She went ahead to attempt to back up her claim by saying "feminism is a cult group". At this point the only thing I could utter was Hmmm, wahala dey o. I immediately had to google the meaning of feminism and right after I searched for misandry. I know there has been a lot of attack on people who identify as a feminists but this was the first time I heard "...you can't be both a Christian and a feminist". I had a lot of questions as you might have guessed. I honestly just wanted to understand where ...
