Getting Past Your Past

I listened  to a sermon from Elevation church and I think that was the best I have listened to concerning the topic that was preached. I will share what I learnt.

This message is specifically for people who have a problem with getting past their past and if you don't have a problem with getting past your past i;m so glad you came to visit my blog.
When I mean past,i'm not referring to last year past or last two years..I mean last night past, last week and last month past.

2 Corinthians 5:17;"This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone,a new life has begun".See, the problem  isn't I was bad and Jesus made me good but I was dead and Jesus made me alive....this is what happens when he comes into our lives. If you do not let your past die,it wont let you live.

3 thoughts the preacher emphasized on that will help us get over our past:

In Christ you are completely forgiven

One reason that makes us feel so condemn is we know who we really are...I mean we don't only know the sins that other people know,we know the sins we committed that nobody else knows.
Romans 8:1.."For there is no condemnation for those who belong in Christ Jesus".So guess what,he knows about the abortion,he knows about the adultery,he knows about the lies and the affairs,he knows about those thoughts and you and I are completely forgiven anyway.

The story of the woman who was caught in the act of adultery and was brought to Jesus in the temple to trick him...pause,the people who brought her came with stones and what have I learnt about self righteous Christians...they all carry stones.
The first thing the bible says about Jesus was"He bent down".God became man
.Don't miss this part...Jesus humbled himself,so instead of taking a posture over this woman he demonstrated how he humbled himself and took the form of humanity.

The bible continues with when he took one of his fingers and he put it on the ground, archaeologist has shown that Jesus was in the temple and in the temple the entire place must have been covered with marble so the ground wasn't dusty, the ground was stone:FINGER TO STONE.Where else in the bible did the finger of God touch a stone;THE TEN COMMANDMENT,and one of the commandment is "thou shall not commit adultery"

So the one who wrote thou shall not commit adultery eventually stood to the woman and said"woman, where are your accusers and she said, they are  gone and He said 'NEITHER DO I ACCUSE YOU,GO NOW AND LIVE A LIFE WITHOUT SIN'...
Are we not just so lucky..I'm happy writing this..guys,this demonstrated that in Christ ALL OF US ARE COMPLETELY NOT PARTIALLY FORGIVEN.

Forgiveness is not achieved,it is received so when we do not feel forgiven we should just celebrate our forgiveness because there is a God who knew every stupid thing we would ever do and he still saved us and made arrangement for those sins to be paid.

THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT WE ARE COMPLETELY NOT PARTIALLY FORGIVEN

My Identity Crisis

Oh, hello This is uum kind of awkward. You would think after doing this for so many years, I would be so courageous and confident to stand before a crowd. It's almost like every event I'm invited for,is a chance to stand on the stage again for the very first time.  Somehow I believe that's the beauty of it all, the nervousness, excitement, the adrenaline spike that rushes through my body helping me prepare so I don't get so comfortable in my God-given abilities and slip up. Well, as some of you may know My name is Emediong Francis Udoudoh and I wear many hats but for this event, I choose to wear my green public speaking hat. Can I have a seat please? I hope that's fine yea, okay I think I would be more comfortable if I assume the friendly kind of vibe position. Thank you very much. So, as I was saying my self and my green hat we want to talk you today about identity. As many of you may know, I am the founder of Dimensionsofgold conglomerate but what you don't ...

It's My Body I Can Do Whatever I Want With It

"It's my body I can do whatever I want with it" Amongst the numerous quotes and sayings I have recently deduced as 'wrong', this happens to be the most insane. To crown it all, there are movements to actually support this notion  headed by women who claim to be Christians when the question of religion and going to church arises but when it comes to how they should dress to church and life at large it suddenly becomes; 'its my body, I can do what I want". This movement has been covered under the canopy of 'self love and do you, the world will adjust' and it just surprises me when Christian women pledge to this movement with their dressing without understanding God will never adjust to mans movement when he has a movement of his own. Click to read my views on making vows It is very confusing because in as much as these women claim to pray and study the word, I have reasons to believe they ignore verses where God says our bodies belong t...

On Being A Feminist

The other day I was privileged to attend an event, it wasn't necessarily a church program but it centered around Christianity and women. So of course the guest speakers would be women but one was particularly very interesting. This lady  went on and on about how Christian women should act, which I agreed for the most part and learnt new  things. However, she took me aback with a particular statement she made "you can't be a Christian and a feminist". She went ahead to attempt to back up her claim by saying "feminism is a cult group". At this point the only thing I could utter was Hmmm, wahala dey o. I immediately had to google the meaning of feminism and right after I searched for misandry. I know there has been a lot of attack on people who identify as a feminists but this was the first time I heard "...you can't be both a Christian and a feminist". I had a lot of questions as you might have guessed. I honestly just wanted to understand where ...
